Dawn McKinney is a graduate of the University of New Mexico where she studied under Dr. John Marchiando to complete a master's degree in Trumpet Performance.  She completed her undergraduate degrees in Music Education and Trumpet Performance at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania under the tutelage of Dr. Stephen Hawk.  While in New Mexico, Dawn performed professionally with the New Mexico Philharmonic, the Santa Fe Symphony, the Santa Fe Concert Association, Opera Southwest, the Figueroa Music and Arts Project, the New Mexico Symphonic Chorus, Landmark Musicals, and the Enchantment Brass.



In addition to her performance endeavors, Dawn has served as a guest clinician for high schools in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, and New Mexico as well as a trumpet instructor for both competitive and non-competitive marching band programs.

 

Dawn is currently living in Arlington, VA with her wonderful husband, and employed at Apple working as a Schedule Planner.
